Amazon Aurora in Amazon Web Services China

Amazon Aurora is a MySQL- and PostgreSQL-compatible relational database built for the cloud, that combines the performance and availability of traditional enterprise databases with the simplicity and cost-effectiveness of open source databases.

Region availability

Amazon Aurora is available in the following regions in China:

  • China (Beijing) Region

  • China (Ningxia) Region

How Aurora differs

The following differences apply to Amazon Aurora:

  • Backtracking is not available.

  • Aurora Serverless v1 isn’t available in the China (Beijing) Region.

  • Because the China (Ningxia) Region uses a unique certificate authority (CA), update your DB clusters for the China (Ningxia) Region to use the Region-specific certificate identified by rds-ca-rsa2048-g1 in DescribeCertificates calls as soon as possible. The remaining instructions described in the Rotating your SSL/TLS certificate topic are the same, except for the certificate identifier.

  • Zero-ETL integration with SageMaker Lakehouse isn’t available.
