Amazon CloudFormation in Amazon Web Services in China

Amazon CloudFormation enables you to create and provision Amazon Web Services in China infrastructure deployments predictably and repeatedly. It helps you leverage Amazon Web Services in China products such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud, Amazon Elastic Block Store, Amazon Simple Notification Service, Elastic Load Balancing, and Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling to build highly reliable, highly scalable, cost-effective applications without worrying about creating and configuring the underlying Amazon Web Services in China infrastructure. Amazon CloudFormation enables you to use a template file to create and delete a collection of resources together as a single unit (a stack).

Region availability

Amazon CloudFormation is available in the following regions in China:

  • Beijing Region

  • Ningxia Region

How Amazon CloudFormation differs

The following differences apply to Amazon CloudFormation:

  • Amazon Web Services in China supports a subset of Amazon services and a single Availability Zone and Region; you may need to modify Amazon CloudFormation sample templates and template snippets to conform to these differences.

  • Amazon CloudFormation doesn’t support the AWS::Include transform.

  • Amazon CloudFormation doesn’t support the following resources:

    • AWS::Cognito::IdentityPool

    • AWS::Cognito::IdentityPoolRoleAttachment

    • AWS::Cognito::UserPool

    • AWS::Cognito::UserPoolClient

    • AWS::Cognito::UserPoolGroup

    • AWS::Cognito::UserPoolUser

    • AWS::Cognito::UserPoolUserToGroupAttachment

    • AWS::DAX::Cluster

    • AWS::DAX::ParameterGroup

    • AWS::WAFRegional::XssMatchSettitem

    • AWS::DMS::Certificate

    • AWS::DMS::Endpoint

    • AWS::DMS::EventSubscription

    • AWS::DMS::ReplicationInstance

    • AWS::DMS::ReplicationSubnetGroup

    • AWS::DMS::ReplicationTask

    • AWS::KinesisAnalytics::Application
