The Amazon Web Services in China implementation of AWS Elemental MediaConvert is unique in the following ways:

  • AWS Elemental MediaConvert is available only in the Ningxia Region.

  • Some forms of data protection through encryption are not currently supported by AWS Elemental MediaConvert in the Ningxia Region. The following forms of encryption are not supported:

    • Decryption of input media files that you encrypt before uploading them to Amazon S3.

    • Encryption of output media files with a master key that is managed by Amazon Key Management Service (SSE-KMS). Therefore, you can’t provide your own master key when using AWS Elemental MediaConvert in the Ningxia Region.

In the Ningxia Region, AWS Elemental MediaConvert does support encryption of output files with a master key managed by Amazon S3.

    • Digital rights management (DRM) using dynamic keys. This includes all DRM done with third-party DRM partners using the SPEKE specification.

      Note
