Amazon OpenSearch Service in Amazon Web Services China

Amazon OpenSearch Service (the successor to Amazon Elasticsearch Service) is a managed service that makes it easy to deploy, operate, and scale OpenSearch and legacy Elasticsearch OSS clusters in the Amazon Web Services Cloud. OpenSearch is a popular open-source search and analytics engine for use cases such as log analytics, real-time application monitoring, and clickstream analytics.

Region availability

Amazon OpenSearch Service is available in the following regions in China:

  • China (Beijing) Region

  • China (Ningxia) Region

How OpenSearch Service differs

The following differences apply to Amazon OpenSearch Service:

  • Only some OpenSearch Service instance types are available.

  • Amazon Cognito authentication for OpenSearch Dashboards is not available.
