Amazon Application Recovery Controller (ARC) in Amazon Web Services China

Amazon Application Recovery Controller (ARC) provides several distinct capabilities: readiness checks, Region switch, routing controls, and zonal shifts. With ARC, you can gain insights into whether your applications and resources are prepared for recovery, and quickly mitigate impairments for a multi-Availability Zone or multi-Region application. ARC helps you prepare for and accomplish faster recovery operations for applications running on Amazon.

Zonal shift and zonal autoshift in ARC are available in the China (Beijing) and China (Ningxia) Regions. Zonal shift helps you manage and coordinate recovery for Amazon applications by enabling you to manually shift a supported resource’s traffic away from an unhealthy Availability Zone (AZ) to healthy AZs. Zonal autoshift is a feature that you can enable to have Amazon safely and automatically shift your application’s traffic away from an AZ when Amazon identifies a potential failure affecting that AZ. Temporarily moving traffic for a resource away from an unhealthy AZ helps your application recover quickly, minimizing impact for your customers.
