Feature Availability and Implementation Differences
The Amazon Web Services in China implementation of Route 53 is unique in the following ways:
-
You can't use Route 53 to register domains. However, you can create a hosted zone in one of the China Regions, and associate the name servers for that hosted zone with a domain that you registered using a global account or that you registered with another domain registrar.
-
The
TestDNSAnswer
API is not available. -
Traffic flow is not available.
-
You can't create alias records that route traffic to Amazon resources outside the China Regions.
-
You can't create records that use the geoproximity routing policy. That routing policy is available only for traffic flow.
-
When creating alias records programmatically and routing traffic to an Amazon CloudFront distribution, use the following hosted zone ID:
Z3RFFRIM2A3IF5
. -
You can add an alias record to an Amazon Elastic Beanstalk environment in Ningxia Region only by using the
ChangeResourceRecordSets
API, but not on the console. When you programmatically create an alias record to an Amazon Elastic Beanstalk, use the following hosted zone ID:ZB5H67MZE5736
. -
Recursive DNS resolvers can only use use IPv4 transport to submit DNS queries to Amazon Route 53.
-
Route 53 DNSSEC signing is not supported in China.
-
Route 53 Resolver DNS Firewall is supported in China with the following differences:
-
You can use Amazon Resource Access Manager to share DNS Firewall rule groups with Amazon Web Services accounts.
-
-
Route 53 Profiles are not available.
