Amazon WAF in Amazon Web Services China

Amazon WAF is a web application firewall that lets you monitor web requests that are forwarded to Amazon CloudFront distributions or an Application Load Balancer. You can also use Amazon WAF to block or allow requests based on conditions that you specify, such as the IP addresses that requests originate from or values in the requests.

Region availability

Amazon WAF is available in the following regions in China:

  • China (Beijing) Region

  • China (Ningxia) Region

How Amazon WAF differs

The following differences apply to Amazon WAF:

  • The following related services, which appear in the Amazon WAF documentation, are not available in the China (Beijing) and China (Ningxia) Regions: Amazon Firewall Manager, and Amazon Shield.

  • Amazon Web Services Marketplace integration is not available in the China (Beijing) and China (Ningxia) Regions.

  • Amazon WAF is supported at a regional level only in the China (Beijing) and China (Ningxia) Regions.

  • The Amazon WAF Bot Control managed rule group AWSManagedRulesBotControlRuleSet is available at the common protection level only. The targeted protection level rules are not available in the China (Beijing) and China (Ningxia) Regions.
