Automate data backups with Amazon Backup and Amazon Data Lifecycle Manager

You can automate the creation, retention, and deletion of Amazon EBS snapshots using Amazon Backup or Amazon Data Lifecycle Manager.

Amazon Backup centralizes and automates data protection across accounts and Regions with a single backup plan that can protect Amazon EBS volumes, alongside many other Amazon resources and third-party applications. For more information, see Supported Amazon resources and applications.

Amazon Data Lifecycle Manager creates lifecycle policies that automate snapshot and AMI management for individual Amazon EBS volumes and Amazon EC2 instances. There is no additional charge for using the Amazon Data Lifecycle Manager service itself.
