# Support policy for Amazon IoT Device Tester for Amazon IoT Greengrass

Amazon IoT Device Tester for Amazon IoT Greengrass is a test automation tool used to validate and [qualify](http://www.amazonaws.cn/partners/dqp/) your Amazon IoT Greengrass devices for inclusion in the [Amazon Partner Device Catalog](https://devices.amazonaws.com/). We recommend that you use the most recent version of Amazon IoT Greengrass and Amazon IoT Device Tester to test or qualify your devices.

At least one version of Amazon IoT Device Tester is available for each supported version of Amazon IoT Greengrass. For supported versions of Amazon IoT Greengrass, see [Greengrass nucleus versions](greengrass-nucleus-component.md#greengrass-nucleus-component-versions). For supported versions of Amazon IoT Device Tester, see [Supported versions of Amazon IoT Device Tester for Amazon IoT Greengrass V2](dev-test-versions.md).

You can also use any of the supported versions of Amazon IoT Greengrass and Amazon IoT Device Tester to test or qualify your devices. Although you can continue to use unsupported versions of Amazon IoT Device Tester, those versions do not receive bug fixes or updates.
