Setting up SiteWise Edge gateways (Amazon IoT Greengrass Version 1)

Note

SiteWise Edge gateways running on Amazon IoT Greengrass V1 are available only if you started using this feature before July 29, 2021. Otherwise, you set up SiteWise Edge gateways running on Amazon IoT Greengrass V2.

You can send industrial data to Amazon IoT SiteWise using an SiteWise Edge gateway to upload data from industrial equipment. The SiteWise Edge gateway serves as the intermediary between Amazon IoT SiteWise and your data industrial equipment. Amazon IoT SiteWise provides Amazon IoT Greengrass components that you can deploy on any device that can run Amazon IoT Greengrass to set up a SiteWise Edge gateway. Amazon IoT SiteWise supports linking with OPC-UA server protocol.

If you have Amazon IoT SiteWise Edge gateways that run on Amazon IoT Greengrass V1, you can upgrade your SiteWise Edge gateways to Amazon IoT Greengrass V2. For more information, see Instructions for upgrading SiteWise Edge gateways from Amazon IoT Greengrass V1 to Amazon IoT Greengrass V2.
