Overview
The purpose of this guide is to provide an overview of how to implement and operate
Oracle database for SAP NetWeaver applications on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2). It is for users who are responsible for planning, architecting, and
deploying Oracle database for SAP NetWeaver applications on Amazon. You should have a
good understanding of Amazon services, general network concepts, Oracle Enterprise Linux
(OEL) OS, and Oracle database administration. This guide provides guidance to
successfully launch and configure the resources required for Oracle database on Amazon.
It doesn’t provide guidance on how to setup network and security components like
Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC), subnets, route
tables, ACLs, NAT gateway, Amazon Identity and Access Management (IAM) roles, and Amazon security groups. It focuses on how to configure and
maintain the compute, storage, and OS components for the Oracle database on Linux on
Amazon. It is not intended to replace the standard installation and administration guides
from SAP or Oracle.
