# How Amazon Launch Wizard uses Amazon Secrets Manager

Amazon Launch Wizard for Active Directory is a service that applies Amazon Web Services Cloud application best practices to guide you through setting up a new Active Directory infrastructure, or adding domain controllers to an existing infrastructure, either in the Amazon Web Services Cloud or on premises.

Amazon Launch Wizard requires domain administrator credentials to be added to Secrets Manager to join your domain controllers to Active Directory.
