DeleteInstance - OpsWorks

DeleteInstance

Deletes a specified instance, which terminates the associated Amazon EC2 instance. You must stop an instance before you can delete it.

Required Permissions: To use this action, an IAM user must have a Manage permissions level for the stack, or an attached policy that explicitly grants permissions. For more information on user permissions, see Managing User Permissions.

The request accepts the following data in JSON format.

DeleteElasticIp

Whether to delete the instance Elastic IP address.

Type: Boolean

Required: No

DeleteVolumes

Whether to delete the instance's Amazon EBS volumes.

Type: Boolean

Required: No

InstanceId

The instance ID.

Type: String

Required: Yes

Response Elements

If the action is successful, the service sends back an HTTP 200 response with an empty HTTP body.

Indicates that a resource was not found.
