Creates a cache policy.

After you create a cache policy, you can attach it to one or more cache behaviors. When it's attached to a cache behavior, the cache policy determines the following:

The headers, cookies, and query strings that are included in the cache key are also included in requests that CloudFront sends to the origin. CloudFront sends a request when it can't find an object in its cache that matches the request's cache key. If you want to send values to the origin but not include them in the cache key, use OriginRequestPolicy.

Note:

This is an asynchronous operation using the standard naming convention for .NET 4.5 or higher. For .NET 3.5 the operation is implemented as a pair of methods using the standard naming convention of BeginCreateCachePolicy and EndCreateCachePolicy.

Parameters

request
Type: Amazon.CloudFront.Model.CreateCachePolicyRequest

Container for the necessary parameters to execute the CreateCachePolicy service method.

cancellationToken
Type: System.Threading.CancellationToken

A cancellation token that can be used by other objects or threads to receive notice of cancellation.

Return Value


The response from the CreateCachePolicy service method, as returned by CloudFront.

Exceptions

ExceptionCondition
AccessDeniedException Access denied.
CachePolicyAlreadyExistsException A cache policy with this name already exists. You must provide a unique name. To modify an existing cache policy, use UpdateCachePolicy.
InconsistentQuantitiesException The value of Quantity and the size of Items don't match.
InvalidArgumentException An argument is invalid.
TooManyCachePoliciesException You have reached the maximum number of cache policies for this Amazon Web Services account. For more information, see Quotas (formerly known as limits) in the Amazon CloudFront Developer Guide.
TooManyCookiesInCachePolicyException The number of cookies in the cache policy exceeds the maximum. For more information, see Quotas (formerly known as limits) in the Amazon CloudFront Developer Guide.
TooManyHeadersInCachePolicyException The number of headers in the cache policy exceeds the maximum. For more information, see Quotas (formerly known as limits) in the Amazon CloudFront Developer Guide.
TooManyQueryStringsInCachePolicyException The number of query strings in the cache policy exceeds the maximum. For more information, see Quotas (formerly known as limits) in the Amazon CloudFront Developer Guide.
