Describes the status of the specified instances or all of your instances. By default, only running instances are described, unless you specifically indicate to return the status of all instances.

Instance status includes the following components:

The order of the elements in the response, including those within nested structures, might vary. Applications should not assume the elements appear in a particular order.

Note:

This is an asynchronous operation using the standard naming convention for .NET 4.5 or higher. For .NET 3.5 the operation is implemented as a pair of methods using the standard naming convention of BeginDescribeInstanceStatus and EndDescribeInstanceStatus.

Parameters

request
Type: Amazon.EC2.Model.DescribeInstanceStatusRequest

Container for the necessary parameters to execute the DescribeInstanceStatus service method.

cancellationToken
Type: System.Threading.CancellationToken

A cancellation token that can be used by other objects or threads to receive notice of cancellation.

The response from the DescribeInstanceStatus service method, as returned by EC2.
