Add a recovery email in Amazon Settings

Warning

We're currently releasing our new experience to a limited number of customers. You might not be able to access this experience yet.

You can add a recovery email in Amazon Settings. This is an alternate email address that you can use to regain access to Amazon Settings if you lose access to your primary sign-in method.

We recommend that you add a recovery email to secure your account.

To add a recovery email
  1. Open Amazon Settings at https://settings.aws.com.

  2. In the main navigation pane, choose Manage security and sign-in.

You'll be redirected to your Amazon Builder ID profile.

  3. For Authentication, choose Add recovery email.

  4. For Recovery email, enter an alternate email address.

We will send a verification code to your email address. The code is valid for 10 minutes.

  5. Enter the verification code and choose Verify email.
