Setting up and using the Amazon Web Services access portal - Amazon IAM Identity Center
Services or capabilities described in Amazon Web Services documentation might vary by Region. To see the differences applicable to the China Regions, see Getting Started with Amazon Web Services in China (PDF).

Setting up and using the Amazon Web Services access portal

The Amazon Web Services access portal connects your workforce to Amazon Web Services accounts and cloud applications through IAM Identity Center. Administrators configure the portal and manage user access, while end users sign in once to seamlessly access all their authorized resources.

The Amazon Web Services access portal provides single sign-on access to:

  • Amazon Web Services accounts in your organization.

  • Amazon managed applications such as Amazon Quick Suite and Amazon Q Developer.

  • Cloud applications like Office 365, Concur, Salesforce, and others.

When users sign in to the portal, they find the Amazon Web Services accounts and applications they're authorized to access without additional sign-in.

Getting started with the Amazon Web Services access portal

For administrators:

You need administrative access to your organization instance or account instance of IAM Identity Center to configure the Amazon Web Services access portal and manage user access.

  1. Optionally customize the Amazon Web Services access portal URL.

  2. Assign user access to Amazon Web Services accounts and applications. Assigned Amazon resources display in the portal.

For end users:

Your administrator must have completed the Amazon Web Services access portal setup and provided you with your portal URL and sign-in credentials.

  1. Get your portal URL from your administrator (typically https://your-company.awsapps.com/start).

  2. Sign in using the credentials provided by your administrator.

  3. Access your resources in your portal.
