My Amazon account is closed, suspended, or terminated, and my domain is registered with Route 53 - Amazon Route 53
Services or capabilities described in Amazon Web Services documentation might vary by Region. To see the differences applicable to the China Regions, see Getting Started with Amazon Web Services in China (PDF).

My Amazon account is closed, suspended, or terminated, and my domain is registered with Route 53

If you closed your Amazon account, or if the account is suspended or terminated, and automatic renewal is turned on, Route 53 will try to renew the domain registration, but the renewals will fail. You can contact Amazon Support and ask them for help with the following options:

  • If you don't want to keep the domain registration, Amazon Support can disable automatic renewal for the domain. This prevents you from getting several reminder emails about domain renewal.

  • If you do want to keep the domain registration, Amazon Support can help you either reactivate your account or transfer the domain to another domain registrar.

Note

Once 90 days has passed from when you closed your account, you can no longer reopen it. For more information, see Can I reopen my closed Amazon Web Services account?.
